In the 5th expansion to the bestselling Carcassonne - the game of the year 2001 - players are given new opportunities to consolidate their influence in the Carcassonne area. Traveling traders transport their goods to surrounding towns and monasteries. This means prosperity for all Meeples, cities in the surrounding area grow to impressive sizes and elect their own mayors. Simple farmers become wealthy and build estates. The church tries to consolidate its influence by founding abbeys.
