The Bridges, Castles and Bazaars expansion for Carcassonne - the game of the year 2001 - introduces new elements for a more varied game. Engineers are driving road construction forward with new types of bridges. Streets with unprecedented intricacies become possible. It goes haywire.

The small towns that keep emerging can now be expanded into castles in order to secure power and influence over the surrounding area. However, since things don't always turn out as planned by the client, there is tension. In addition, hawkers come into the country and hold bazaars. All sorts of important things are on offer and whoever haggles best can count on a hefty profit.
