The Count of Carcassonne entices the players to help his comrades in arms - of course not without self-interest. The River II starts the game with an ever-changing river landscape and can be combined with the river from the base game.

King and Robber Baron reward the players who build the largest city and the longest road. And there are five cult sites as completely new landscape tiles with which the players can steal points from the monks.
